The Piece
A traditionally shaped bookcase, reworked with a deep charcoal finish and gold-painted Queen Anne legs. A gold crest ornament sits at the top rail, and one side panel carries a floral decoupage treatment.
The Transformation
The bookcase was finished in a dark charcoal tone, with the Queen Anne legs and top crest painted gold to contrast against the base colour.
A floral decoupage panel was applied to one side, adding a vintage-inspired detail to the piece.

No formal restoration record was issued for this piece.
Restoration Story
This piece began as a traditional glazed cabinet before being reworked into an open bookcase with a darker, more contemporary finish.
The original structure was retained and transformed with a charcoal-black finish, decorative floral side panels and warm metallic detailing on the carved crest and feet.
Restored in Cape Town, the finished piece was sold and delivered to a private client in Johannesburg.
